Pelvic inflammatory disease, also known as pelvic inflammatory disorder (PID), is an infection of female reproductive system. It often is the infection by sexually transmitted bacteria in uterus, fallopian tubes or ovaries.
In many cases, there may not be noticeable symptoms. When they present, the symptoms include lower abdominal pain or pelvic pain, abnormal vaginal discharge, fever, painful urination, and uterine bleeding.
