Constipation by Medical Conditions

Medical conditions that affect the function of muscles and nerves of the colon may lead to chronic constipation: pelvic floor dysfunction, cystic fibrosis, Hirschsprung’s disease, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, spjnal cord lesions, and colon cancer. Medical conditions such as diabetes, hypothyroidism, and hyperparathyroidism may also lead to chronic constipation.
