The common cold, also known simply as cold, is a viral infection of the upper respiratory tract including the nose and throat. Symptoms include sore throat, cough, runny nose, congestion, and sneezing . There may be fever. The cough is usually singular, non-productive cough (no sputum). The symptoms may last about a week in average, and gradually go away in one or two weeks.
