Lung abscess is a medical condition of necrosis or death in the part of the lung, with forming cavities that contain waste debris and fluid from the infection. Symptoms typically include a chronic cough with foul smelling sputum, and purulent sputum, shortness of breath, fever and chest pain. The sputum often is large quantity, sticky, purulent yellowish, or red bloody.
