Hematemesis (Vomiting blood) by Stomach Polyps
Stomach polyps are the abnormal growth of stomach mucous membrane. It occurs more in people age > 50 years old. Stomach polyps generally don’t cause any symptoms. However, clinical signs and symptoms may occur when there is damage or bleeding on the surface of the polyps. Chronic bleeding may cause anemia and melena (the dark blood stools). Abdominal pain is not apparent but there is painful tenderness when pressing stomach area of the abdomen. The large bleeding from the polyps may cause hematemesis.
