Urine Color Changes by Kidney Diseases

Kidney Diseases

Two Kidneys are located above the bladder and near the middle back on either side of the spine. The function of kidneys is to remove waste and extra water to become urine. Kidney diseases such as infection, stone, cyst and cancer can cause the urinary bleeding. Urine color may appear to be dark red or brown. Because urine is produced in the kidneys, the change of urine color may last the entire course of urination.

Please see your doctor for diagnosis and treatments when you see the change in the urine color or experience pain when urinating.
