Polymyalgia Rheumatica

This is an inflammatory illness that cause muscle pain and stiffness. It occurs more often in the nick, shoulder, upper arms and hips. The cause of Polymyalgia Rheumatica is unknown but is related to age and environmental factors. It often affects the elderly >  age 60 or 70.

The symptoms of muscle pain and stiffness start at one part of the body such as the shoulder, then spread to other parts such as the neck, arms, hips or legs, or all over the body. The symptoms get worse in the morning or after being in active for a while. There are other symptoms such as low grade fever, the loss of appetite and weight loss.
