Tenosynovitis

This is a painful condition caused by the inflammation of sheath or synovium that surround a tendon. It affects the tendons on the hands, wrist and feet, but most often on the thumb side of the wrist.

Symptoms include the difficulty or painful moving a joint. If hands or wrist are affected, there is pain and tenderness at the base of the thumb. It hurts every time turning the wrist or using the thumb causing the thumb/finger in a stick position known as ‘trigger finger’.

Treatments: It heals with the home remedies, but go to see your doctor if the pain continues and tenderness spreads.
