Red Eye by Closed-Angle Glaucoma (acute congestive glaucoma)

Closed-Angle Glaucoma

Glaucoma is caused by eye intraocular pressure increase and subsequent eye optic nerve damage.

Symptoms: There are two types of glaucoma. Most glaucoma cases are open-angle glaucoma that little noticeable sign other than gradually visual field loss. On the other hand, closed-angle glaucoma accounts for less than 10% of glaucoma cases. It presents eye redness with eye pain and blurred vision or halos/glare around light. There may be nausea and vomiting due to high intraocular pressure of the eyes. There may be sudden vision loss.
