Red Eye by Acute Conjunctivitis

Acute Conjunctivitis

This is an inflammation or infection of conjunctiva, which may lead to the conjunctival congestion. The conjunctiva covers the sclera (white part of the eye). During the conjunctival infection, small blood vessels become inflamed so that blood vessels appear more visible or ruptured bleeding underneath the conjunctiva. This is what gives the eyes a bright red/pink appearance.

Symptoms include red, swollen, itchy/burning, watery eyes. The eyes are sensitive to light.

Treatments: It heals with home remedies. Please go to see your doctor if there is blurry vision and mucus/pus discharges.
