Presbycusis (age-related hearing loss)
It is an age related hearing loss, which affects about one-third elderly people. It is caused by the malfunction of the inner ear, and is one of “sensorineural” hearing loss. Although we may or may not notice, presbycusis occurs gradually or slowly as people age. The loss of hearing manifests after the age of 60 or 70, and continues progress as growing older.
Treatment: If it affects your daily activities, please discuss it with your doctor about getting hearing aids or devices.
