Skin Rash by Measles

Measles

It is a childhood viral infection and generally comes with a fever and rash.  Available of measles vaccination has significantly reduced the number of cases.

Symptoms include cold- or flu-like symptoms such as fever, runny nose and cough. There may be sore throat or red inflamed eyes (conjunctivitis). A few days after the peak of these symptoms, skin rash appears as small red spots and bumps. The rash usually starts on the face, behind the ears, and then spreads to the rest of the body in the next few days.

Treatment: Please go to see your doctor if you suspect you or your child has measles, or if you or your child may have been exposed to measles.
