This is one of nail deformities in which the texture and shape of nail are affected generally due to malnutrition and chronic medical conditions. It is particularly seen in hypochromic anemia, such as ion-deficiency anemia, but may also be associated with nail injury, Raynaud’s disease, and B12 deficiency.
Affected nails are thin, flat, and lost their convexity by curing upward becoming spoon-shaped thin nails.
Please go to see your doctor as quickly as possible after noticing the deformity.
