This is a bacterial infection and very contagious, which is spread by direct or indirect contact. Trachoma is more often seen in preschool children.
Symptoms include eye itching, redness, and sensitive to light. However, red/pink eyes are usually seen in the early stage of the infection. As trachoma progresses, watery discharge often contains mucus or pus. Other symptoms are blurred vision and eye pain.
Treatments: please go to see your doctor when your child or you have trachoma symptoms.
