Cholesteatoma is an expanding skin growth in the middle ear, and can, therefore, causes a conductive hear loss. It can result from the repeated ear infection or present from birth. The loss of hearing appears gradually and continues progress.

Symptoms typically include ear discharge and hearing loss due to the excessive skin growth in the middle ear. There may also be ear pain due to rising ear pressure, or dizziness.
