Abdominal Pain by Pancreatitis (acute)

Pancreatitis is the inflammation of the pancreas that lies horizontally behind the stomach. Pancreas produces variety of enzymes that helps processing (digesting) foods, and is essential for the digestion of fats. The causes of acute pancreatitis are associated with many factors for example Alcoholism, gallstone, post abdominal surgery, and infections.

Symptoms typically include upper abdominal pain, nausea/vomiting, tenderness when touching the abdomen, and fever. Abdominal pain is severe due to the damage of pancreas by the pancreatic enzyme. Pain occurs usually after meal. Acute pancreatitis may cause shock due to severe pain and sudden drop blood pressure.
