Anemia is a condition in which the body does not have enough normal red blood cells (RBCs). The function of red blood cells is delivering oxygen to the body. There are several types of anemia, each with its own cause. In general, anemia can be caused by reduced RBC production, increased RBC destruction, or blood loss.
The typical symptoms of anemia include pale skin, malaise, and shortness breath. Early stage of anemia is usually found during routing blood tests, but people with anemia show excessive shortness breath during the exercise or exertion.
