Cyanosis by Pulmonary Embolism
The function of the lung (pulmonary) is to transfer oxygen into the blood. Pulmonary arteries then take oxygen containing blood to the rest of the body. Pulmonary embolism is the medical condition in which one or more pulmonary arteries are blocked by the blood clot, causing the reduction in overall oxygen supplies along with other problems.
Symptoms occur often sudden in onset and vary greatly depending on the number of pulmonary arteries blocked. Generally, there are the shortness of breath, rapid breathing rates, chest tightness or chest pain, and cough. As it progress getting worse, there are signs cyanosis in fingers/fingernails/lips, dizziness and Coughing up blood.
