Parotid Swelling by Parotid Gland Cancer
Salivary gland cancer is a rare type of cancer and is more in the elderly. Because of the multiple locations of salivary glands, the tumor or swelling caused by the tumor may occur in the mouth, throat, or neck.
Symptoms include the lump or swelling usually on one side, muscle weakness or facial numbness when tumor pressing nerves, and swallowing difficulty. The tumor or swelling is painless generally at the early stage. At the late stage, it becomes non-movable, tender or painful, and may have purulence discharge.
