Rheumatic Heart Disease is an inflammatory illness of the heart usually caused by bacterial infection. It is a chronic condition and begins at young age.  Symptoms include fever, chest pain, and palpitation or arrhythmia. In severe cases, there may be cough with blood-tinged sputum or bloody sputum, due to heart-failure induced pulmonary edema.
