Sputum by Lobar Pneumonia

Lobar pneumonia is usually the bacterial infection and occurs when pneumonia affects large area of the lung. Comparing to other pneumonia, therefore, hemoptysis or bloody sputum occurs more often in lobar pneumonia. Bloody sputum is blood/brown, giving ‘rusty’ color. There are other signs and symptoms of pneumonia such as high-grade fever.  Lobar pneumonia occurs more in young children and the elderly.
