Postprandial hypotension is a medical condition of hypotension after the meal or eating. It is the sudden drop in blood pressure after eating, due to the large amount of blood is pooled in the GI systems including the liver and GI tracts.

People generally maintain normal blood pressure when eating because the blood pressure is tightly controlled in the body.  However, the elderly, or the people who have chronic diseases, or who take medicines that depress blood pressure, are at risk of postprandial hypotension.
