Cyanosis by Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease

The function of the lung is to transfer oxygen into the blood or the body. Medical conditions that prevent the lung does it job is collectively called chronic obstructive pulmonary (lung) disease (COPD). The causes of COPD include smoking, pollution, asthma, and family genetics, which lead to bronchitis and COPD.

Symptoms commonly include chronic coughing, shortness of breath, and chest tightness. As these symptoms worsen over the time, there are cyanosis in fingers/lips/cheeks, and clubbing fingers in which nails curve down more than normal around fingertips.
