Crohn’s disease or Crohn syndrome is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) affecting the GI system from mouth to anus. Crohn’s disease also affects other parts of the body causing inflammation in the skin and joints.  The cause of Crohn’s disease is not well-known but is associated with bacteria and virus infection. Symptoms in GI system include abdominal pain or cramping, repeated low grade fever, repeated or consistent diarrhea. These are due to the chronic inflammation of GI. In severe cases, there is bloody stool or bloody diarrhea. Crohn’s disease may lead to malnutrition and weight loss.  In addition to GI symptoms, there are often inflammation in skin, skin rush, or joint pain.

Please go to see your doctor if there are signs of GI inflammation as listed above,  particularly with skin rush or joint pain.
