Anemia by Other Chronic Disorders

Anemia by Other Chronic Disorders

Chronic diseases may cause anemia by not producing enough healthy blood cells, which can be the result of the primary disorder or the malnutrition (from chronic illness), or the action of medications. Diseases that often lead to anemia include: cancer, chronic kidney disease, autoimmune disorders (arthritis, lupus, etc.), and chronic infection diseases or inflammation (TB, HIV, hepatitis, etc.).
