Anemia by Taking Medicine

Many medications can cause anemia as a side effect of treatment.  Anemia may become apparent critical problem during the long-term use of these medications. Categories of drugs that often cause anemia include: chemotherapy drugs, some pain killers (NSAIDs), some antibiotics, some anti-seizure medication, Levodopa. Please discuss the side effects with your doctor when taking these medications especially for long-term use.
