Thyroglossal cyst is an inherited illness. It presents a small lump below or about the location of hyoid bone at the midline of the neck. 

The Characteristics of the mass is that it moves during swallowing. It usually painless, but can be painful or obstructive to breathing or swallowing when it is infected.
