Thyroiditis

Thyroiditis is an inflammation of the thyroid gland, which the immune system disorder affects the thyroid gland. There are several types of thyroiditis: Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, silent thyroiditis, drug-induced thyroiditis, and acute thyroiditis.

Symptoms: Thyroiditis or chronic thyroiditis causes hypothyroidism. Therefore, thyroiditis has the symptoms of hypothyroidism including malaise, sensitive to cold, dry skin and constipation. Thyroiditis may have the symptoms of hyperthyroidism during the acute or early stage of thyroiditis. There may be a moderate swelling gland (goiter) without touch/pressing pain.
