Disorders in outer ear particularly problems in ear canal can cause hearing problems and increase of the risk of having conductive hear loss. The causes that may lead to hearing loss include excessive earwax, outer ear infection, trauma or injury to the canal, and eardrum tear.

Symptoms or severity of hearing loss is dependent on the type of outer ear problems. Outer ear problems manifest themselves by having excessive earwax or other abnormal discharges in the ear canal.

Hearing loss is usually partial and temporary.

Treatments: In most cases, outer ear problems can be treated with home remedies. However, please go to see your doctor if there is ear pain and hearing problem.
