Hearing Loss by Noise-Induced Hearing Loss

Noise-Induced Hearing Loss

This is hearing loss or impairment by loud sound. People can be exposed to harmful noise in a variety of places such industrial/workplace noise, heavy traffics, loud music, airplane, etc. Noise can cause the damage of the inner ear. Thus, it is one of “sensorineural” hearing loss.

The hearing loss from noise exposure occurs often gradually. The damage of hearing accumulates over time and continues progress with age. Depending on the exposure time and the intensity of noise, the hearing loss may also occur suddenly when exposed to extreme loud noise.

Treatment: Noise-induced hearing loss can be prevented. Please go to see your doctor when notice the sign of hearing loss or impairment.
