Cyanosis

Cyanosis is the discoloration of the skin to blue or purple due to the lack of oxygen in the blood. Therefore, any medical condition that has the low oxygen in the blood can cause cyanosis. Cyanosis may occur in any part of the body but most commonly in the extremities such as fingers, fingernails, toes, lips and face.
